Blue Mountains Home Education Network

The Blue Mountains Home Education Network as a concept was conceived at a picnic organised to celebrate National Home Education Week in early 2009. A group of us wanting to connect with other home educators in the mountains collaborated to spread the word about the picnic far and wide. There was a great turn out on the day and lots of talk of networking and collaboration. So, a paper plate and a pen was passed around and we collected and then exchanged names and contact details. Out of this the BM-HEN initiative was born.

The Blue Mountains Home Education Network web-site has come to fruition because of the efforts of a core group of families committed to and passionate about community and connections. We hope that the network will continue to grow and encourage the broader home educating community to come on board. We welcome contributions in the form of articles, personal accounts, web links, event listings, general comments about the web site itself or anything else that may be informative and useful to local home educating families.
