What is homeschooling?

It is educating your child/ren outside of the conventional schooling system. There are as many ways to home educate as there are families that do so. Browse through the links in the Helpful Information pages to learn more about styles of homeschooling.

Who can do it?

All families can. You don’t need to be a teacher or to hold any special qualifications or pre-requisites.

Is it legal?

Yes. The NSW government requires that any home educated child be registered with the Office of the Board of Studies. It is estimated however that only one third of all home educating families actually are registered.

What style suits my family?

You are the only one that can make that decision. It usually takes some time to settle into a rhythm and style to your homeschooling.
